1st Turkey & 1st Toe Painting

Riley's 1st Turkey!!! (April 18, 2009)
Josie's 1st Toenail painting.
Mom painted her toes while she was babysitting her Tuesday (4-21). Mom called the house later that night to "see" if Josie was sleeping. Well come to find out she was actually calling to see if we had seen her toes yet. I decided to take a shower with Josie that night, so Mike was in the bathroom with me and was taking her clothes off to give her to me. He goes to take her socks off and says "Who painted your toenails?" I yell "What?". So he shows me when he hands her into me. So that's why Mama called?! When we got out I called Mama and told her she could have at least painted them red where you could see them. She laughed and said that Josie sat there and watched her paint them and then just sat there while Mom put the hair dryer on them to dry them. So I guess Josie is going to like her nails painted. Mom told Riley so the next day when I got there to drop Josie off he couldn't wait to take her sock off to see her nails. Kayla says "Pretty toes Josie!"

Josie and her glasses!

I didn't get around to posting last week. Josie had a good Easter. She was wore out though. The only nap we got her to take was what time it took us to go from Granny Glodyne's to Louise's. She was in good humor though until late that night when we were home and trying to put her to sleep. It took 3 hours after she woke up around 9:30 to get her back to sleep. And she cried the entire 3 hours. That was awful!!! Thank God holidays aren't around very much.
Friday night Riley stayed the night and went turkey hunting with Uncle Mikey on Saturday. They got one too! Riley called all excited to tell me that they got a turkey. I was so glad that they did, that way Riley enjoyed it. I got pictures of him I'll have to get posted. I forgot them today.
Friday evening while Riley was at the house Josie started kind of crawling. She would get on her knees and kind of wobble on them to get where she was going. Then last night (Monday) when I got home and sat her in the floor, I left the room to get something and when I came back in she was over by her walker. I asked Mike if he moved her and he said No she did it. Then a little while later we actually got to see her do it. I was so proud of her!!! We got it on video. She's still slow but I figure by the weekend she'll be on the move. I told Mike that it's now time to start childproofing! And I hate those cabinet locks. I guess I'm a child cause I can't work them either. The fun part is going to be tomorrow when she is with Michelle and she starts crawling to get Kayla's toys and Kayla gets mad at her. Kayla is going through the terrible twos right now and having a hard time sharing with Josie, I can't wait to see what is going to happen when Josie just crawls to get a toy she wants. Michelle is going to have her hands full.
I am starting to design for a new company called Divine Digital. I'm hoping this money will help offset the money I spend on scrapbooking! I am also "CT"-ing for a new company. Once I get some things from them I'll let you all know that one!
Til next time!

Good til Sunday

Saturday I went to get my hair cut and Mike stayed home with Josie. That is only the second time he has flown solo. When I got home they were asleep on the couch. I was relieved cause I had been worried about how she would do. Mike doesn't put her down for naps or night time, I do, and when he tries she fights him. He said she fought him but she eventually gave in.
Once she woke and I fed her, she and I went to see the Easter Bunny. We went to Fountain Square and I was very impressed. As I am with their Santa also. Josie sat in his lap and didn't cry but she wouldn't smile either. We tried for about 5 minutes and I told the girl if she got a good picture that it was fine, I was just happy she wasn't crying. I meant to bring it to work and scan to put on here but I forgot it.
Then Sunday we went to church and she was fine. Sunday evening we went out to eat with our parents at Cafe Pizzeria and she didn't want to eat her dinner. She was being really cuddly also and I made a comment to her that I thought she didn't feel very good. Well!!! She didn't. Once we pulled in our driveway I took her out of her car seat because she was trying to fall asleep and I was trying to keep her awake. As soon as Mike put the car in park she unloaded on me. Puke everywhere!!! Poor kid. I took her in the house, put her in the bathtub to take her clothes and mine off and she was fine and dandy. Then Sunday night she woke at 1:00 and she was soaked with sweat, running a temperature. I took her to our bed, gave her Tylenol and she couldn't settle down. So she and I got up and went to the living room for me to rock her. She was asleep but couldn't lay still until the Tylenol kicked in around 3:00 Monday morning. She and I stayed home yesterday and she fought a fever all day long. The only thing solid wise I could get her to eat, was some of my bagel, cherry jello and her puffs. She ate a little fruit but not much.
Mom has her today and so far she's been okay. She has slept alot and Mom did get her to eat 5 oz at one feeding. Yesterday I could barely get her to eat 3 oz at a feeding. So maybe and hopefully she's coming out of it. Her temperature is gone anyway!
Ah, the joys of motherhood! And I love every minute of it!!!
Here's some more pages I got done Friday before I left for the weekend.
This is Uncle Nathan feeding Josie a bottle. Which has never been seen before this child! And pictures of her sitting in the center of the table during dinner at Papa & Mama's. February 3, 2009

Michelle took this picture in February of the girls at my work on one morning. She comes to my work on Wednesday and Friday mornings while Riley is at school. That way she's not running around town spending money and I get to spend the time with Josie. Then I go with her to pick Riley up during my lunch and then she drops me back off at work. It has worked out very nicely for Josie and I and I think Kayla enjoys it also.

8 month old!

I can't believe Josie is 8 months old today! Time has flown so fast since she has been here.
Josie is doing really good. She absolutely loves her fruit and veggies are so-so. She starts out good with them but about half way through a container she is done with them but you give her fruit and you can't get it in her mouth quick enough.
She is being picky with her morning bottles. She doesn't want to eat the whole 7 ounces anymore so I am having to make a full bottle and then split it up so that she will get her medicine in it. Otherwise, she doesn't get the full dose of medicine and she starts spitting up alot again. I think for about the last week and a half she is only averaging about 4 ounces in the mornings. By the end of the days though she has caught herself up and she eats anywhere from 20 ounces to 23 ounces/day, plus her food.
She has quit taking her evening naps. I just realized the other day that she hasn't done them for about a month now. She is going to sleep around 8:00 every night but she does not sleep the whole night through anymore. For the last two weeks she wakes about every 2 hours and then she will have about a 3-5 hour stretch but only if she is in our bed. I am so ready for a child I can put to bed and stay until the next morning but I have a feeling she is not going to be one.
She is trying really hard now to figure out how to crawl. You sit her on her bottom and she will move herself in circles by bending one leg back and pushing around. She's been doing that for about a week. Now we are having to watch her because she is bending and reaching for things when she does this and trying to figure out how to get the other leg out from under her so she would be on her hands and knees. She does pretty good with not falling but sometimes she goes face first. She will take some steps with Daddy holding her hands but when I try it she turns herself around and holds my legs.
I would say pretty soon we are going to have our hands full with "nosey Josie".
